Mangalore: Rain Remains Elusive – Mercury Soars

Mangalore, Jun 22: Monsoon continued to be weak on Tuesday June 22, belying the predictions of the meteorological department. Even Subrahmanya, which registered rainfall regularly, went without any rain during the day on Tuesday.

However, many places in the twin-districts received good rain on the night of Tuesday. Even though rain has withdrawn since Wednesday morning, cloudy weather continues to envelope Karnataka coast.

Some parts of Udupi and Karkala taluks received some showers on Tuesday evening. Kadra and Agumbe received the highest rainfall of two cms each.

A release from the meteorological department, which is valid till Thursday morning, said that many places located in the coast and some places in southern hinterlands will receive rains. It has also warned the fishermen not to venture into the sea because of strong wind that is expected to sweep across the sea.
