Kasargod, Jun 22: Sauda (45), a resident of Kulashekharapati in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, was arrested by the policemen on Monday June 20. She is facing the charge of sending over 300 young girls from the state to Sharjah by promising them lucrative employments, and then pressurizing  them to get involved with sex trade.

Ahmed Kutty from Alampady, who is the one of the leading links in the case, has already been arrested. Sauda had appeared in the office of the circle inspector of police at Pathanamthitta along with her legal advisor on Monday. It is learnt that she had secured anticipatory bail before meeting the policemen.

Inspector general of police, K Padmakumar, has been leading the investigation in this case. Shamiya (30), daughter of Sauda, who is the other prominent accused in the case, was also arrested in the past. She is under judicial custody.
