Mangalore: Lions Club Valencia Installs Office-Bearers

Mangalore, Jun 28: The installation ceremony of new office-bearers of Lions Club Valencia for 2011-12 was held at Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatta, here on Sunday June 26.

Speaking on the occasion, installing officer Vasudev Valvalkar stressed the importance of the club's movement in uprooting corruption and leadership development.

Silver jubilee year project inaugurator Sadashiv M B, district's first vice-district governor, inducted Sumalatha Suvarna and Padmanabha as members of the club.
 
Along with the installation ceremony, an education fund of Rs 48,000 in the form of a fixed deposit receipt, a project sponsored by Alwin Saldanha and Lilly Saldanha, was handed over to Dolphy. A medical kit sponsored by Navinchandra D Suvarna was handed over to ‘Sneha Sadan’, a home for HIV positive people.

KMC medical health cards sponsored by Sushil Noronha were given to 25 people and Rs 5,000 sponsored by Leslie D'Souza was given to Ravindra from Adyar for house construction. School uniforms sponsored by Lawrence Serrao were donated to the poor students of Taneerbavi.
