Mangalore: PU Student Commits Suicide

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 30: Pamela Lobo (17), a first PU student of Capitanio College in the city, committed suicide by hanging herself at her home on Monday.  Pamela, daughter of the late Frederick Lobo, was residing at Mariyashrama Church Compound near Talapady.

On Monday, she did not attend the college, as she was suffering from fever. She was alone at home when her mother went to work. During late afternoon, some of her college teachers came to see her, but saw that the front door was closed.

Upon opening the door, they found Pamela hanging from a fan in her room. The teachers conveyed the information to the neighbours, and police were called. It is said that Pamela, in a note written on a book left behind in her room, said that her decision to end life was relating to her love affair with a youth.

when a person live for self pleasure and when fail to conquered people take extreme step. Selfishness and greed are the main causes in majority of suicidal incidents. Prejudging the future and high expectations and high ego to accept failure end up with there kind of acts. Faith in almighty God who answers the prayers can only give the strength to overcome defeated feelings.

Suicide rate is on a very high rise in hi-fi Mangluru, not a good sign for the health of the society! Tolerance levels are getting lower. People want instant gratification. Crass materialism is the order of the day!
