Kundapur, Jul 1: Renowned nephrologist Dr Istiyaq Ahmed who has been serving at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, left to Toronto, Canada on Friday July 1, for specialized studies.
Dr Istiyaq's team for the first time in the medical history of India successfully transplanted pancreas and kidney simultaneously in 2008.
He was honoured at a medical convention held in Paris where he presented his thesis.
