Bantwal, Jul 3: The motion was set for the solid-waste treatment units and garbage trucks that are being set up with the objective of maintaining cleanliness in the neighbourhood of Kalladkal along nation highway by Golatamajal and Baltila gram panchayats, near here on Saturday July 2.

Dakshina Kannada ZP president K T Shailaja Bhat inaugurated the new-facility during a function held at Panchavati auditorium, Kalladka, here on Saturday.

Shailaja in her inaugural address said that the cleanliness drive of DK has been acknowledged by the nation.  Meanwhile, it’s the responsibility of everyone to safeguard the honour.  The local peoples’ representatives and departments officers had to take earnest interest in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in every village, urged Shailaja.

MLA Ramanat Rai in his presidential address said that the cleanliness projects that are implemented in Goltamajal and Baliga GPs are to be implemented in the entire taluk.  Meanwhile, a proposal has been forwarded the concerned department in order to supply drinking water to all people, by identifying water sources in the taluk, said MLA Rai.

The district project officer Mohammed Nazir, Total Cleanliness Campaign district co-ordinator Manjula, TP president Shailaja P Shetty, vice president Dinesh Amtooor, ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbe, TP member Ida Suresh, former MLAs K Padmanabha Kottari and A Rukmaya Poojary, TP chief executive officer Vasantraj Shetty, assistant executive engineer Shivamurti, GP president Monappa Devasya, Laxmi Gopal Acharya, vice president Annu Poojary, PDO Nagesh, Vishwanat, village secretaries Satyabhama, Ashok Kumar and others were present at the occasion.
