Kasargod: Religious Scholar Payota Tangal (81) Passes Away

Kasargod, Jul 8: K S Muhammed Tangal Payota (81), popularly known as Payota Tangal, breathed his last due to cardiac arrest at his home at Kallakatta in the district at around 10 pm on Wednesday July 6.

Payota Tangal was a religious scholar and expert in diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. He had functioned as Khateeb at various mosques including Kajoor, Chakmuki, Karnur and Payota, among others. He had been staying at Kallakatta since the last three decades. He lives behind a large number of fans and followers.

The religious leader and healer is survived by wife, Sayyidat Ayesha, children, Umarul Farooq, who is in Saudi Arabia at present, Ahmed Rashid, Fatima, Faqira, Rahima, Rabia, Rahila and a large number of relatives and friends.
