Mangalore: Rain Acquires Further Intensity

Mangalore, Jul 8: Both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts enjoyed brief spells of sunny weather in the afternoon on Thursday July 7, with rain gaining in intensity in the evening. Beltangady, Sullia, and Kundapur taluks received less rain as compared to other taluks. Many parts of the coast received heavy rain on Thursday night and Friday morning.

Bajpe in Dakshina Kannada district and Kadra in Uttara Kannada registered nine cms of rain each, the highest in the state. The other places on the coast received between four and eight cms of rain.

The meteorological department has predicted normal to heavy rains in most places in the coast, and several places in southern and northern hinterlands.
