Chennai, Jul 8: Choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva and his wife Latha got divorced by mutual consent at Principal Family Court here on Thursday July 7.

Rs 10 lac alimony and piece of property in Anna Nagar along with two cars were given to Latha. Both their children will be in her custody. However, Prabhu Deva is allowed to visit them as he wished.

The actor transferred his property at Injambakkam village and Alekhyas Kaushik Meadow to his children.

He also agreed to fund the children's educations and other expenses in the future.

The couple went in for a divorce after Latha alleged that the actor turned director was having an extra-marital affair with another actor.  In yet another petition, she wanted the court to restrain Prabhu Deva and actor Nayanthara from giving any joint interviews formalizing their marriage.

Though the couple got married in September 1995, they have been living seperately since January 2008.

After all efforts to make their marriage work turned futile, the couple decided to get divorced.

Both have agreed not to make any claim over each other's property in the future, the order said.
