Bantwal: Truck-scooter collision – Driver hospitalises injured rider, escapes with vehicle

Bantwal, May 20: In an incident that occurred on May 15 at Melkar on NH 75 near here, a container truck driver, who collided with a scooter, hospitalised the rider and escaped with his truck.

Scooter rider Devaraja Nayak, a resident of Bolangadi is injured and is admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Both scooter and container truck were moving from Melkar to B C Road. The container truck hit the scooter from behind. The scooter rider was injured. The driver of the container truck shifted the scooter rider in the same truck to a hospital in B C Road and escaped with the vehicle.

A case in this regard is filed at Bantwal traffic police station.
