Bengaluru, Jun 14: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lashed out at BJP’s Mysuru MP Pratap Simha for lacking political maturity.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Wednesday, he said Simha speaks irresponsibly and utters whatever comes to his mind.
Siddaramaiah ridiculed the BJP leader for his ‘outrageous’ statement that he had built the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and wanted to know whether he is the MP for road works.
“I don’t have the habit of visiting the houses of leaders of opposition parties to speak to them. I will speak to them if they come to meet him. I don’t have the habit of visiting the houses of opposition leaders when my party is in power,’’ he said.
The BJP MP’s statement that the Congress and BJP have come to an understanding exhibits the person’s political immaturity.
“If he (Simha) has any specific information and details of understanding between Congress and BJP, let him say it. He must be knowing who met whom and discussed what,’’ he said pointing out that making baseless allegations will only belittle the MP.
Siddaramaiah said he has no objection if the MP gives a complaint to State Governor or anybody on any allegations. “We don’t need his advice on when to order a probe into the PayCM and 40% Commission charge. We know whom to ask to conduct the probe and when. Let him not bother about it,’’ he said.
The Chief Minister clarified that the meeting with officials, which was attended by AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, was not a formal and official meeting.
It was an informal meeting at a private hotel on various issues pertaining to development of Bengaluru, in which the officials and ministers too were present. The subject of holding elections to BBMP, which was kept pending by BJP government, also figured at the meeting, he explained.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who is in charge of Bengaluru, has been holding meetings and discussions on different problems including the Hebbal Flyover and Surjewala joined in the informal discussions, the Chief Minister said.
