Mangaluru, Jun 17: White Doves has reunited 27-year-old destitute, Megharaj, with his family in Kerala after he went missing from his hometown in December last year.

Megharaj (27) was suffering from severe seizures throughout his childhood. He recovered as he grew older, but these occurrences started happening again and again. He used to do welding work for a living, but as his condition deteriorated he started getting scared and was unable to sleep at night. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital in his hometown and while he was on his way to hospital with his family he escaped.

Megharaj was found in a jungle area near Maroli where he stayed for four days. On December 19, 2022, he was rescued by White Doves founder Corrine Rasquinha, manager Jerald along with other staffers. Megharaj was taken into the White Doves where he was treated and rehabilitated.

Two months after being rescued, Megharaj escaped from White Doves through the roof and was found two weeks later in Kuntikana under a flyover near AJ Hospital. He was brought back to the centre and has been living there since then.

When Megharaj first came into White Doves, he was in a miserable condition, covered in filth and one who was constantly trying to run away. He was wary about living in White Doves and hence tried to escape. Now, thanks to all the help he received from White Doves, Megharaj’s condition has improved drastically and he is fit and happy.

On June 17, Megharaj’s brother Tharnath, his friend, and three officers from the Kottayam Police Department, Kerala reached White Doves, Mangaluru to reunite him with his family after they were alerted that he was staying in the facility.

Megharaj’s family had filed an FIR with the Kottayam Police shortly after he went missing. The Kerala Police worked relentlessly to trace Megharaj and help the family reunite with him. This is the first time when White Doves has seen an interstate police come along with the family for the reunion.

The Kerala police worked tirelessly to help several families like Megharaj’s to find their missing loved ones. While at White Doves, the police also interacted with other inmates from Kerala and have assured all of them that they would help them reunite with their families as well.

Under the care of Corrine Rasquinha, the founder of White Doves, Megharaj was rehabilitated and treated well and was finally able to reunite with his family. This is the 412th heart-warming reunion by White Doves.
