Kundapur, Jun 19: There are no teachers in 63 government schools of Udupi district. In the state as well there are many schools where there are no teachers. Due to the absence of permanent teachers, rural students are being deprived of quality education. So, during the additional teachers’ transfer process that is going to take place this month, these schools have to be provided with teachers.
Karnataka state school development and in-charge committees’ forum of Udupi district has submitted an appeal to Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah in this regard. The appeal was submitted through Nagaraja Naikada, tahsildar grade-2 in the office of assistant commissioner of Kundapura on Monday.
In the appeal it is said that Udupi unit of Karnataka state school development and in-charge committees’ forum is involved in the empowerment of government schools of Udupi district with the motto of preserving and growing government schools under the direction of educational expert Prof Dr Niranjanaradhya V P and child and law centre national law school of India University Bengaluru, since 2013.
Abdul Salaam Chittoor, district president of the forum, Ashwath Kundapura, president of town municipality unit, Avinash Holla, president Byndoor taluk, Shashi Balkoor, press secretary, Varadaraja Acharya Ankadakate, organising secretary, Ashfaq Moodgopadi, Shobha Shantaraj and Krishnanda Shanubhogue were present.
