Mangalore: District CPI (M) Demands Title Deeds for Poor

Mangalore, Jul 26: Urging the state government to issue title deeds to the poor at Lingappayyakadu at Mulky the district unit of CPI (M) organized a dharna with in front of the district commissioner's office on Monday July 25.      

Secretary of the Dalita Hakkugala Samithi Lingappa Nanthoor told media persons that poor people had been subjected to harrassment from the government officials who have not yet issued them title deeds.

He said that even though a memorandum was submitted to the tahsildar and deputy commissioners of various taluks nothing has been done so far.
                      
After inaugurating the dharna, Balakrishna Shetty said that the government seemed to be least bothered when over 300 families who have been living in 2-cent and 3-cent plots in Tannibhavi here are still fighting to get their title deeds.

He also compared the BJP rule in the state government to the British rule saying that with the chief minister continuing his rule for two more years, the poor people will have no future.
