Mangaluru: House under repair collapses, no loss of life

Mangaluru, Jul 5: A house under repair at Ullal in which a lady was dwelling, collapsed on Tuesday July 4.

The house behind Someshwar, Ullal railway station belongs to Shobha. It collapsed in the heavy rain and strong breeze last night. Her husband had died a few years ago due to sickness. Shobha was living with her brother and sister-in-law Hema. But her brother who was the breadwinner of the family, died of drowning a year ago.

She was staying later with her sister-in-law and her child. Raktheshwari Balaga took up the repair work of their house and shifted them to a nearby house. As there was nobody in the house under repair, there was no loss of life.

Someshwar municipal council officials visited the spot and conducted inspection. Raktheshwari Balaga have sought monetary help from donors and the government for the family.
