Mangaluru, Jul 5: The boat of a youth who went fishing by boat despite warnings of Red Alert by the weather department capsized. He was rescued by the residents of Harekala.

The incident happened below Harekala-Adyar bridge in the Netravati river on Wednesday July 5.

The youth had gone fishing at Netravati river, near Harekala in the morning. The flow of water was more due to incessant rain. The boat toppled due to the force of the water.

The young residents who saw the youth in boat in distress, immediately lowered a rope from the bridge and lifted rescued him. The boat was washed away. The video of the rescue operation has gone viral on social media.
