Mangaluru: Several houses inundated in Bengre due to heavy rain

Mangaluru, Jul 6: As many as 35 to 40 houses in Thota Bengre and 15 to 20 houses in Kasaba Bengre were inundated due to heavy rain in the district on Thursday June 6.

As Dakshina Kannada is witnessing heavy rainfall, the district administration has declared holidays for schools and colleges.

Speaking to Daijiworld.com, president of Bengre Jamath Billal Moideen said, "The district administration should release proper compensation for the victims.”

Corporator Muneeb said, "The area is lacking proper drainage facilities. Due to rampant sand mining, people are facing this problem.”

The IMD has issued a red alert for three districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttar Kannada till July 10.

    The purpose is compensation,why the elected representative did not work on this earlier. The previous election promises have made and forced the habit of begging by the Kanadiga people who now have forgotten their self respect.

    CBI/ED/JUDICIAL COMMISSION needs to be deployed to investigate the situation. Also, rope in CIA, NASA and Mossad.
