Mangaluru, Jul 7: A programme on kitchen waste management and pot composting was organized by MRPL on July 5 in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission at Bajpe gram panchayat (GP).
Purnakala, chief executive officer, Bajpe Pattana Panchayath, inaugurated the programme, and Shekar Shetty, president of Rotary Club, Bajpe and MRPL officers K Nagaraja Rao and Steevan Pinto, were present on the occasion.
Ranjan Bellarpady of Ramakrishna Matt, Managluru, presented the pot compost method and discussed kitchen waste management techniques for intelligent domestic waste management.
He also demonstrated pipe composting and recycling kitchen trash into compost for gardens and plants. Despite the torrential rain in Bajpe, 48 participants attended and benefitted from the program. This program was held as part of MRPL’s Swachchatha Pakhwada celebration.
