Udupi: Families to receive birth, death certificates of members at doorsteps

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, July 10: Udupi has been identified as an important health hub. People from inside and outside the district and states arrive at the Manipal Hospital here for treatment. Some of them die without responding to treatment.

The death certificate of the deceased is essential for the family members for further activities. As the family members do not receive them due to technical reasons, they are made to come back here and spend a huge amount of money.

Realising these issues, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao M has enabled such  family members to receive the death certificates by speed post on submission of requisite application form and on payment of a fee of Rs 80.

Udupi municipal council and the post office have entered into a memorandum of understanding for the purpose. More than 100 birth and death certificates have reached the concerned people during the last ten days.
