Kundapur: Lone woman rescued, admitted to Hosabelaku ashram

Kundapur, Jul 12: Locals got Heleamma Poojarthi, who was living in a dilapidated house at Karkada Badaholi of Saligrama, to Hosabelaku ashram.

Haleamma was mentally and physically sick as she was not getting food. She used to eat only if the same was given by neighbours. Her house was on the verge of collapse due to recent rains. Locals had urged Kota PSI Shambulinga and chief officer of Saligram panchayat Indu do rescue the woman.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, all the utensils etc in the house of Haleamma were inspected. Local women bathed Haleamma and she was taken to Hosabelaku ashram at Bailoor of Karkala.

Indu, Mamatha, personnel of panchayat, Kota police station HC Mohan Kothwal, locals Ramesh, Achuth, Nagaraj, Suresh, Chandrabadaholi, Shankara, Narasimha and Girija were present.
