Bengaluru, Jul 12: The prestigious Tata Technologies Ltd., has come forward with an investment proposal for Rs 2,000 crore, Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil said on Wednesday.

The minister said Tata Technologies has offered to set up 3 Common Engineering Facility (CEF) Centres for Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Top executives of Tata Technologies called on the minister in his chambers in Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday.

Patil said if the Tata group is ready to shoulder 70% of the cost of the CEF Centres, the government is willing to extend 30% contribution as part of the private-public-participation model.

Appreciating the proposal, the minister said Karnataka will be the first state to start CEF centres for MSME sector. Each of the CEF centres will have an investment of Rs 630 crore and will comprise of the latest technological facilities. It will benefit Advance Manufacturing 4.0, Electric Vehicle Testing and Space as well as Defence establishments besides start-up ventures.

Tata Technologies President Pavan Bhageria, Vice Presidenet Pushparaj Kaulagood and Chief Executive Officer Praveen Divekar were part of the delegation. Industries Department Principal Secretary Selva Kumar and Commissioner Gunjan Krishna were present during the discussion.
