Bengaluru, Jul 19: A B Pradhan has taken charge as the Director (Human Resources) of HAL in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Prior to his promotion, Pradhan held the position of Officer on Special Duty at HAL Corporate Office and General Manager (HR) at Bangalore Complex.

Pradhan joined HAL in 2005, bringing with him 35 years of diverse experience in the human resources domain, spanning both public and private sectors. He has worked across various industries, including engineering, metallurgy, paper, aerospace, and defence.

Having earned a Post Graduate Degree in Personnel Management & Labour Welfare from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, he also holds a Law degree.

Throughout his career, he played a crucial role in implementing IT-enabled HR Systems. Some of his notable achievements include successfully negotiating a significant number of wage agreements through collective bargaining, enhancing workmen's efficiency by introducing methods like piece rate wages, reducing standard man-hours and overtime, and implementing TPM concepts, including Kaizen and Fugai.

Additionally, Pradhan significantly improved the contract labour system and played a pivotal role in outsourcing non-core HR activities.

He possesses a wide range of expertise in HR functions, including industrial relations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), wage negotiation and settlements, statutory compliance, HR policy formulation, manpower planning, recruitment & career development, skill development and training, performance management, facilities management, and legal affairs.
