Udupi: Shobha Karandlaje urged to provide for free entry of journalists' vehicles at toll gates

Udupi, July 19: Udupi district Karyanirata Patrakartara Sangha has requested union minister Shobha Karandlaje to provide free entry at toll gates for the vehicles of journalists at Padubidri, Hejmady and Byndoor.

A delegation of the Sangha submitted a request to the minister at the MP’s office at Rajatadri, Manipal.

“There are about 170 members in the Sangha. Identity cards of the state Sangha have been issued to them. About 15 to 20 of them have got cars. They should be allowed to pass freely at Hejmady and Shirur toll gates on production of their identity cards,” they urged in the request.

The minister who responded to the request issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.

District president of the Sangha, Rajesh Shetty Alevoor, chief secretary Nazir Polya, Treasurer Umesh Marpalli, state committee member Kiran Manjanabailu, silver jubilee committee chief secretary Jayakar Suvarna and others were present.
