Bantwal: Taluk panchayat issues notices asking unauthorised petty shops to vacate

Bantwal, July 20: Taluk panchayat has issued notices after a long time to unauthorised petty shops to vacate as they are doing businesson on the land where the old taluk panchayat at B C Road was demolished.    

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in 2019 to construct a commercial complex and a private bus stand on PPP model after demolishing the old taluk panchayat building.

A case is in progress in the district panchayat court that the current taluk panchayat building should not be demolished and that a new building should not be constructed. The land of the demolished building is being wasted. The place is filled with shrubs and vehicles are being parked there.

Some shops have come up on the land. But notices asking the shops to vacate failing which the department will be forced to evict them.
