Mumbai, Jul 30: The Maharashtra government on fear relating to the anti-reservation message in ‘Aarakshan’ has requested film maker Prakash Jha for a special screening for the protesting politicians and organizations before the release.

Addressing the assembly on Friday July 29, the home minister R R Patil said that even thought the censor board had cleared the film, it was everyone’s responsibility to ensure there was no social tension.

Patil said there even though there has been no opposition to the movie so far,  he said,  “Social peace is necessary and hence the filmmaker will be instructed to show it to the protesting organisations and legislators and get a no-objection certificate.”

Earlier, NCP’s Jitendra Awhad had said that the movie needed to be banned as it could create discord.
