Kundapur: Zilla panchayat CEO launches paddy sapling plantation

Kundapur, Jul 23: Zilla Panchayath CEO Prasanna H inaugurated the plantation of paddy saplings in fallow land at Hadali in Amaparu village. The initiative is a joint effort by Kundanadu Raitha Uthpadakara Company, Udupi Zilla Panchayat, National Rural Livelihoods Mission, Agriculture Department, Kundapura Taluk Panchayat, Rotary Club, and Vanashri Sanjivini Okkutta.

During the event, CEO Prasanna H stated, "We have organised this programme in collaboration with Sanjeevini Okkutta and other organisations, aiming to cultivate 10 acres of fallow land in every 155 gram panchayats across the district. This initiative will result in the cultivation of 1,550 acres of fertile land. Currently, we have initiated measures to cultivate 1,130 acres of land."

Baaladi Santhosh Kumar Shetty of Kundanadu Raitha Uthpadakara Company expressed their commitment to cultivate fallow lands to enhance natural agricultural production. He mentioned that cultivating fallow lands has been made easier over the past 3 to 4 years.


The event also saw the felicitation of senior agriculturists Raghuram Shetty, Manjayya Shetty, and Baskar Shetty. Kundapura Taluk Panchayat EO Bharathi, Agriculture Department Assistant Director Roopa Mada, and Amparu Rotary Club president Naveen Kumar Shetty also addressed the gathering.

Among the attendees were Amparu Grama Panchayat president Jayalakshmi Shetty, Vanashri Sanjivini Okkutta president Roshni Shetty, and various members from different organisations.

The event was warmly welcomed and compered by advocate Umesh Shetty, while Grama Panchayat member Ganesh Adiga expressed gratitude with a vote of thanks.
