Udupi, Aug 4: Sahabalve Udupi organization has sent an appeal to the home minister through Udupi deputy commissioner to put an end to the tactics of those spreading hate by creating fictitious stories about the Udupi college washroom video incident. A request is made to interrogate all those who are spreading fictitious stories through the State Women's Commission or the official inquiry committee of the government and issue a factual report.

The petition stated, “Although the police department and the management of the college conducted a proper investigation and resolved the issue, some sectarian organizations and individuals are constantly spreading unreal stories through public meetings and deliberately carrying out a planned strategy to increase disharmony in the society. Vishwa Hindu Parishad on August 3, in a meeting organized, have spoken provocatively that women should take up arms. The police department has filed a suo moto complaint against the three female students in connection with the dispute, but without filing a complaint against anyone who is spreading baseless lies, it seems as if they have given free rein to the conspiracy to spread hatred.”

Sahabalve also appealed to send the State Women's Commission or an equivalent official inquiry committee of the government to Udupi to inquire all those involved in the campaign. Such report should be released to the public and legal action should be taken ruthlessly against persons and organizations disturbing the peace of the society, stated the appeal.

Sahabalve members submitted the petition to the Udupi deputy commissioner.
