Udupi, Aug 4: The Bajrang Dal has condemned the filing of a police suo moto case against Vishwa Hindu Parishad's provincial co-ordinator Sharan Pumpwell and Udupi district secretary Dinesh Mendon, who participated in a protest demanding a comprehensive investigation into the college washroom video case.

Speaking at a press conference organized in Udupi press club, Sunil KR, provisional co-ordinator of Bajrang Dal said, "The organization and the leaders working for the vigilance of the Hindu society have not done anything to create unrest in the society. Instead, it is condemnable that a case has been filed against the leaders of our organization who said that the Hindu society should be vigilant against the brutal oppression. The police have registered a suo moto against the leaders of the organization who spoke in the protest meeting within a few hours, but it took 8 days to register an FIR in the washroom video case. No Hindu organizations would take out a protest march if the case was registered immediately after the incident came to light. Of course, it is suspected that the police department is working in this way under the pressure of someone. Therefore, we warn that the registered case should be withdrawn, otherwise we will organize state-wide protests again with the support of the larger Hindu society. There is a ‘blackmail jihad’ activity behind the video shooting incident. The now-banned PFI members are also involved in this. Blackmail jihad activities are taking place like love jihad. We have information that Hussain, the father of the accused student Shafa, is a member of the PFI. We are demanding his arrest and inquiry.”

Bhujanga, division coordinator Bajrang dal Mangalore, Vishnu Murthy Acharya, president of Udupi Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Chetan Peralke, district coordinator Bajrang Dal Udupi, and Manoj Malpe, coordinator were present.
