CM advocates deployment of CSR funds for education sector

Bengaluru, Aug 4: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has advocated the deployment of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for the development of education sector as education sector will help in the progress of society.

Speaking after inaugurating the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Conference’ on Education in Bengaluru on Friday, he said the Congress government was committed to emphasize on skill development as per the needs of the present technology and production.

Skill-based youth group will be created for the business world, he said and promised that all the necessary cooperation and assistance will be given for the growth and progress of the industrial sector.

Corporates and the business sector should join hands with the government for the progress of the society. Healthy progress of society and industrial sector by emphasizing on education must be given priority.

He said the Government has implemented five guarantee schemes with the aim of reducing the gap between the rich and the poor on the principle of Universal Basic Income. The budget has also been prepared with the same intention.

“We formulated five guarantees which are applicable to all castes, religions and classes. This has given new enthusiasm and strength to the economy. Women of the State have got economic independence. Nobody is going to bed with hunger. All the programs and guarantees are helpful to eradicate child labour,’’ he added.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Industries Minister M B Patil, Primary and Higher Education Ministers Madhu Bangarappa, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Dr M C Sudhakar and other ministers, Sharanprakash Patil, D Sudhakar and Chief Minister's Political Secretary Govindaraju were present.
