Mangaluru, Aug 4: The Fourth day Novena prior to the feast of St Lawrence was held at Bondel Church.

The theme of fourth day was-"Living in unity is the strength of families."

Fr Faustine L Lobo, parish priest, Kinnigoly parish was the main celebrant, Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza , concelebrated the mass. Fr Faustine L Lobo addressed the devotees of St Lawrence, and said, "A family is a group of two or more persons related by birth, marriage, who live together. Strength in unity builds a strong family. Let us reflect on two families, Holy Trinity and Holy Family."

"Holy Trinity:The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit work together. They are never separated, though each one of them is a distinct divine person. There is a unity of essence and relationship within the three divine people.

Holy Family: Most of us value the gift of family, treasure it, and understand its importance for both society and church.Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph for inspiration, example and encouragement. They were a model family in which both parents worked hard, helped each other, understood and accepted each other, and took good care of their child so that he might grow up not only with human knowledge, but also as a Child of God. Jesus brought holiness to the family of Joseph and Mary as Jesus brings us holiness by embracing us in His family. St Lawrence is the inspiration for us to live as a united family," he added.

The melodious choir was from Bejai Parish. Special prayers are offered for all the young people in the families.
