Kadaba: Huge tree gets uprooted – Two coconut, 40 arecanut trees destroyed

Kadaba, Aug 7: A huge tamarind tree got uprooted and fell on the farm of P S Vishwanatha Rai at Chennavara Patte in Paltady village of the taluk due to high velocity winds.

Due to the fall of the tamarind tree, two coconut trees and 40 arecanut trees also got cut resulting in huge loss.

Savanoor gram panchayat member Vinoda Rai visited the spot.

The intensity of rain has reduced considerably in the coastal region. In Sullia, moderate rain showered from morning till afternoon. Rest of the places experienced the high mercury. Mangaluru recorded a highest temperature of 29 deg C and lowest of 24 deg C.
