Mangaluru, Oct 4: The first volume of ‘The Best Beginner Drum Book’ with Western notations, a book on drums authored by Vijay Noronha Bellur, was released on September 29 at Symphony Music stores, Bunts Hostel road here.

Loy Noronha, the owner of the SYMPHONY Music chain of stores in Mangaluru, Udupi and Kasargod, was the chief guest of the function. He praised Vijay Noronha's vision for budding musicians, emphasising its potential to foster creativity. Vijay Noronha had previously published a multilingual songbook with Western notations for the keyboard, guitar & violin, a book still in demand today.

The book was unveiled by Rajendra, a senior and popular drummer from the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada, who has performed with many renowned troupes and filmy singers. He highlighted the significance of Western notations books for musicians.

Vijay Noronha, the founder and principal of the Sweet Symphony Institute of Music, operates two schools in Kulshekar and Bondel. During his address, Vijay Noronha noted that students often lack easy access to Western notations books for songs in local languages. This inspired him to provide handwritten copies to his students. Eventually, he decided to compile these Western notations into a printed book, with the support of his associate, Jayaraj Rego, a tutor who brought this vision to life in digital format. He also announced the upcoming release of Volume II of multilingual Western notations books for keyboard, guitar & violin, eagerly anticipating a positive response.

Jayaraj Rego warmly welcomed the guests and provided a brief introduction to the book.
