Kundapur, Oct 4: "The administration has been neglecting auto rickshaw owners and drivers for the last 40 years. It has made unscientific changes in the matter of Vinayaka rickshaw stand to follow the orders of the high court. We have submitted a request to the assistant commissioner for justice. The spot for the stand is not identified. Resorting to protests will be inevitable if we do not get justice," said Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha founder president Shanker Ankadakatte speaking at Kundapur press club.

"They have put a board that the stand is in front of the library that is neither useful for us nor the people," said Auto Rickshaw Matador Drivers Association Intec Kundapur taluk president Lakshman Shetty.

Kundapur taluk auto rickshaw and vehicle drivers association CITU president Ramesh said that Vinayaka stand is one kilometer away from the current location. People need a rickshaw to go to Kodi. It is natural to have a rickshaw stand near the bus stand. Shifting of the auto stand near the library is unscientific. A place on government land near Vinayaka bus stand should be allotted for the rickshaw stand, he said.

BMS rickshaw union president Manjunath and various rickshaw union office bearers were present.
