Bantwal, Oct 5: A bike rider was killed as his two wheeler was hit by a car at Kamaje Cross on B C Road-Punjalkatte highway.
The deceased is identified as Srinivasa Udupa (58), a resident of Mangalpady near Vamadapadavu. He was moving from B C Road to Vamadapadavu. When he took a turn at Kamaje Cross to return back to B C Road, an Innova car which was coming from the opposite end hit his vehicle. Though the car driver tried his best to avoid hitting the scooter rider, who took a sudden turn, he could not manage.
Udupa was a cook in addition to being a coordinator in the temple. He is survived by wife, son and two daughters.
A case is filed in Bantwal traffic police station.
