Beltangady, Oct 7: Mortal remains of a man were found in a huge steel container filled with water kept behind a rice mill. The exact cause of death is not known.
According to the complaint filed by Vinay Kumar (33), son of the deceased Krishnappa Sapalya (60), his father was working as daily wage labourer at Sri Chandranatha rice oil flour mills managed by Dharmasthala temple and was addicted to alcohol.
On September 3 in the morning, Krishnappa had gone to the rice mill for work. He did not come for lunch in the afternoon. In the evening, Sridhar Hegde, manager of Dharmasthala temple godown, came to Krishnappa’s house and informed the family members that the mortal remains of Krishnappa are found in a prone position in the huge steel container behind the rice mill which is filled with water.
When Vinay, son of Krishnappa went to the spot, he found the body of his father Krishnappa lying in a prone position in the steel container with water. Though it looks like suicide, the exact reason for his death is not known.
Dharmasthala police are investigating further.
