Udupi, Oct 7: “The Bajrang Dal (BD) and VHP will never allow Mahisha Dasara to be celebrated in the city. Mahisha Dasara is the brainchild of people with a devil mentality,” said Sunil K R, state convener of Bajrang Dal.

Speaking at a press conference in the city, Sunil said, “Mahisha Dasara is a celebration organized by urban naxals. Mahishasura is a demon. People of demonic mentality have resorted to celebrating Mahisha Dasara. This needs to be condemned by the whole Hindu society. This is an act against religion and country. Police department should immediately intervene and prevent the same.”

Responding to the query of scribes on the reality of Parashurama idol in Karkala park, Sunil said, “I do not have information whether the idol of Parashurama at Karkala is made of fibre or any other material or metal. However, it is considered as one of the main tourist attractions of the district. So investigation needs to be done.”
