Udupi: Saffron flags in district at any cost, no Mahisha Dasara - Dinesh Mendon

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Oct 10: "The Hindu community will celebrate the Dasara festival with pomp and gaiety. However, some anti-Hindu forces have planned to disrupt it. The community should stand united against those trying to spoil Dasara celebrations. We obtained a bond of Rs 10.20 lacs to hoist the saffron flag. The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be constructed in 2024, and saffron flags will be hoisted in houses in Udupi. We are even willing to sign bonds worth Rs 10 crores," said Dinesh Mendon, Vishwa Hindu Parishat Udupi district secretary.

Speaking at the conclusion of the Shaurya Rathayatre and Hindu Samajotsava, Mendon added, "We have been under attack for thousands of years, but noble men were born to rescue us. Superstitions, rapes, and attacks on our culture are still happening. Sanatana Hindu religion is revered worldwide. The Hindu community should strongly oppose those trying to disrupt Dasara in the land of Krishna."

"Do not question our religious beliefs. We condemn Mahisha Dasara. Those who disturb peace should be legally restrained. We, the activists, are prepared to pay any price. We fight for Hindutva every day. Ram Kotari and Sharat Kotari are our role models. We need to show their bravery once again. Prashanth Poojary of Moodbidri sacrificed his life for cows. Kuttappa of Coorg is our role model. Some are trying to create fear among Hindus in Shivamogga. If you display such a mentality here, you will have no place to stay," he said.

Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math questioned if any shops or vehicles were set on fire during the rally. He stated, "We consider Lord Rama as our role model. We do not engage in violence or destruction. We welcome positive initiatives. People are being misled like children tempted with chocolates. Even foreigners recognize and follow the Sanatana religion. We need to protest against those attempting to eradicate Sanatana religion. We must form a government that preserves our identity."

Ishapriya Swamiji of Adamaru Math emphasized the need for unity. "We are in a situation where we have to pledge our assets to celebrate a festival. Sanatana values will shine again. We must uphold our 'Sath' principles. Although the entire body is needed for work, a small part is needed for thinking. Therefore, let us put the thoughts of our elders into practice," he said.

Bajrang Dal regional convener Sunil K R proposed that Samajotsava should be celebrated at the regional level. He said, "Siddaramaiah once said that the coast is the stronghold of Hindutva. In the future, we may say that Karnataka is the stronghold of Hindutva. We have received an amazing response as there were no unpleasant incidents. Culture was destroyed wherever Islam invaded the world, but it did not happen in India. India is the Garbha Gudi of the world. We are educating the Hindu community. Challenges lie ahead. A procession was organized in Shivamogga a few days after the chariot rally, where they portrayed a robber as the king of India. Prakash Rai can speak against the Sanatana religion and go anywhere. If we awaken society, you file cases against us and try to silence us. VHP will protect our sisters if you engage in Love Jihad, conversion, and terrorism. Mahisha Dasara was not allowed in Mysuru. Therefore, the district administration and police department should not permit Mahisha Dasara."

Mahandaleshwara Giri Maharaj of Madhya Pradesh stated, "We fight for the unity of India. VHP is creating awareness through Shaurya Yatre. Those who sacrificed their lives for Ayodhya Mandir are among us to witness its construction. Conditions are favorable for us now, but there are proposals to ban Hindutva and Bajrang Dal in some places. We are in the satellite age, so westernization has crept in. We should stop labeling ourselves as Dalits. Throughout history, individuals like Kamsa, Ravana, Hiranna, Kaship, Shahjahan, and Aurangzeb have tried to destroy Sanatana religion, but none have succeeded."

The Shaurya Yatre procession took place from Jodukatte to MGM ground before the meeting.

Manohar Shetty of the Sai Radha group presided over the meeting. VHP regional president M B Puranik, local Satsang leader Mahabaleshwara Hegde, Pune Bunts Sangha president Ganesh Hegde, businessmen Hariappa Kotian, Kadthala Vishwanath Poojary, Ramesh Bangera, Quarry Owners Association president Ravindra Shetty, VHP Udupi district president Vishnumoorthy Acharya, Bajrang Dal coordinator Chetan Peralke, and Matrashakti district convener Poornima Suresh, among others, were present.
