Bantwal: Man shares photo of hunted reptile on social media, case filed

Bantwal, Oct 16: A man hunted a monitor lizard and shared its photo on social media. A case is filed against him under wildlife conservation act in the forest department of Bantwal. The officials are searching for the absconding accused.

The accused is identified as Sudhakara of Vagga. After hunting the monitor lizard, he had made the photo of the dead lizard viral on social media. A complaint was raised by public on forest department helpline as well as zonal forest officer of Bantwal. As the accused came to know that case is filed against him, he went absconding.

Admin of the group in which accused Sudhakar has posted the photo is already subjected to interrogation by the forest officials.

Bantwal zonal forest officer Prafull Rai registered the case and investigating further as per the guidance of Antony S Mariyappa, DCF of Mangaluru.
