Udupi, Oct 17: Karkala MP Sunil Kumar has insulted Lord Parashurama, who is considered as the sixth Avatar among the Dashavatars and creator of Tulunadu, said Pamod Muthalik, national president of Sri Rama Sene.
Speaking to media in the city, Muthalik said, “People who worship Jamadagni, worship Lord Parashurama also. He is the one who pushed sea further to make Tulunadu. Selfish and cheap politician Sunil Kumar has insulted Lord Parashurama. He does not spare even God or temple for his selfishness and monetary gains. It is really a pity that a man who boasts about Hindu culture and religion stooping down to such low level.
“Udupi is land of Gods. It is really unfortunate that such an incident has taken place in Udupi. He is not fit to continue as MLA. He has insulted whole country and the Hindu society. He has marred the position of MLA. The Hindu society will come after with sandals. You have to get sandal pooja.
“The engineer of the project said that it will take one year for the work to complete. However, the theme park is built within 41 days. How this is possible? The MLA and engineer have to answer. There is not building to this park, no permission is taken to build idol. The secretary of revenue department has written letter.
“The building is built setting aside the orders of the deputy commissioner and tahsildar. If a commoner would have done this, it would have been demolished using a bulldozer. The CM has approved an illegal structure. For his victory, Sunil Kumar has made the holy theme park as unholy. Thorough investigation needs to be held. Later, the work may continue.
“The Congress and BJP are playing with this issue. The idol is hidden as Congress is bringing all scams of the BJP rule. The Congress is also silent. The district in-charge minister should get the whole investigation done and stop the work for the time being.
“People are saying that the Congress and BJP have internal adjustment in this matter. Even government machinery is a part of this. Officials of DC, tahsildar and Nirmiti centre are part of this scam. Seek Sunil Kumar’s resignation, arrest him and investigate the matter. Suspend the then then DC and officials of Nirmiti centre. There is no permission to build hotel there. Let thorough investigation be done on hotel, building etc.
“Till the investigation is complete, we will not allow the idol to be built in the park. I do not mind even if my life is taken away. The Congress insulted the present idol. With the presence of police if the idol is transported overnight, it clearly means that the government is involved. If MLA Sunil Kumar has respect, he should apologise, resign,” said Muthalik.
