Kundapur: Steps taken to provide additional impetus for tourism at Kodi – MLA Yashpal Suvarna

Kundapur, Oct 17: "We have taken the first step to provide additional impetus for tourism between Hangarkatte and Kodi," stated Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

He made this declaration during the launch of a new ferry boat, capable of carrying 50 tonnes of vehicles for fisheries business, by the Udupi District Cooperative Fish Marketing Federation on Tuesday. He emphasized that the federation's intentions aren't profit-oriented. Suvarna expressed his concern over the underdevelopment of the beaches due to a lack of communication and mentioned that this issue has been brought to the attention of the state's fisheries minister, who has expressed optimism for further development.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Cooperative Bank managing director Darshan K T, Ramachandra Kunder, Devappa Kanchan, Mati Usharani D K, Sudhakar, Suresh Salian, Baby H Salian, advocate Manjunath, Malpe Fisheries joint director Vivek, Udupi Fisheries deputy director Anjanadevi, fishermen leader Keshava Kunder Airody, gram panchayat vice president Geeta Shetty, member B S Nataraj Ganiga, Durgaparameshwari Temple Kodibengre president Jaya S Kunder, Nagaraja B Kunder, Kodi gram panchayat president Prabhakar Mendon, and Mechanized Boat Fishermen Association Hangarkatte Bengre president Raju N Bangera, among others.
