What's on Delhi-Dhaka Diplomacy Table

Dhaka, Sep 6 (IANS): Notwithstanding the uncertainty over the Teesta water accord, there is a lot happening on the India-Bangladesh diplomacy table.

With Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on a two-day visit, Delhi and Dhaka are likely to sign an agreement to remove barriers to more trade.

They will also develop comprehensive basin-wise management of the trans-boundary rivers, the New Age reported Tuesday.

They are also expected to sign a protocol to settle disputes on their winding boundary and exchange adversely possessed land and enclaves.

There will also be cooperation between India and Bangladesh in renewable energy, fisheries and conservation of tigers in Sundarban.

Programme exchanges are expected between Bangladesh Television and Doordarshan as well as Dhaka University and Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.
