High Court Blast is 19th Attack in Delhi in 15 Years


New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS): The bomb blast that killed at least nine people and left 45 injured outside the Delhi High Court Wednesday morning is the 19th strike in the capital since 1996. The following is the chronology of earlier blasts in the Indian capital:

May 25, 2011: Blast at Delhi High Court, none injured. A car damaged.

Sep 19, 2010: Blast at Jama Masjid, no casulaty, car damaged.

Sep 27, 2008: At least four people killed and 15 injured in explosion in flower market in Mehrauli.

Sep 13, 2008: At least 24 killed and over 100 injured in a series of five explosions at Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash-I and Connaught Place.

April 14, 2006 : At least 14 injured in twin bomb blasts inside the Jama Masjid.

Oct 29, 2005: At least 62 people killed and 210 injured in three explosions, a day before Diwali, in Sarojini Nagar, Govindpuri and Okhla.

May 22, 2005: One killed, 40 injured in serial blasts in two cinema halls.

Feb 27, 2000 : Eight injured in blast at Paharganj.

Jan 6, 2000: At least 20 injured in blast at Old Delhi Railway Station.

Dec 13, 2001 : At least 11 killed and 30 injured in parliament attack.

June 3, 1999 : At least 27 injured in blast at Chandni Chowk.

Dec 30, 1997: Four people killed and 30 injured in blast near Punjabi Bagh.

Nov 30, 1997: Three people killed and 73 injured in twin blasts in Chandni Chowk.

Oct 26, 1997: At least 34 people killed and one injured in twin bomb blasts in Karol Bagh market.

Oct 18, 1997: Twin blasts in Rani Bagh market left one dead, 23 hurt.

Oct 10, 1997: One person killed and 18 injured in blast in Kingsway Camp near Delhi University's north campus.

Oct 1, 1997: Two bomb explosions in Sadar Bazar area left 30 injured.

May 23, 1996: At least 16 people killed in bomb blasts in Lajpat Nagar's Central Market.

    I appreciate the fast action of Delhi Police and other agencies but being a citizen of India, all the agencies should be in proactive mode so that such attack may not be repeated in future.
