Bengaluru, May 11: BJP has released the list of its candidates for the MLC elections. BJP will be contesting in five constituencies and has left one constituency to JD(S), its coalition partner.

The elections will be held for North east graduate’s constituency, south west, Bengaluru graduate’s constituency, south east teacher’s constituency, south teacher’s constituency and south west teacher’s constituency. JD(S) will contest from the south west teacher’s constituency. BJP will be contesting from the remaining five constituencies.

The candidates will be north east graduate’s constituency – Amarnath Patel, south west graduate’s constituency – Dr Dhananjay Sarjee, Bengaluru graduate’s constituency – A Devegowda, south east teacher’s constituency – Y A Narayana Swamy and south teacher’s constituency – E C Ningaraju.

BJP has released the list of five candidates. JD(S) will announce the name of the candidate soon. S L Bhojegowda contesting from JD(S) is almost confirmed but an official announcement is pending.

Elections will be held for north east graduate’s constituency, south west graduate’s constituency, Bengaluru graduate’s constituency, south east teacher’s constituency and south teacher’s constituency on June 3.

The process of filing nominations will begin on May 9. May 16 will be the last date to file the nominations. The nominations will be scrutinised on May 17. May 20 will be the last date to withdraw the nominations. The results will be announced on June 6.
