NTPC Quarterly Net Profit Rises 15 percent


New Delhi, Oct 25 (IANS): State-run thermal power major NTPC Tuesday reported an increase of 15 percent in net profit at Rs.2,424 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30 as against Rs.2,107.4 crore during the like period of the previous financial year.

The total income stood at Rs.16,386.9 crore during the quarter under review, up 6.58 percent compared to Rs.15,375.5 crore in the like period of the previous fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The employee costs also declined during the quarter by 10.7 percent.

At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company were up 1.96 percent to trade at Rs.174.50.
