Dismantle Team Anna, says Member

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS): Amid speculation of divisions in Team Anna, its core committee member Kumar Vishwas Friday asked Anna Hazare to dismantle the committee and create a new structure.

In a letter, Vishwas urged Hazare to create a new structure, stating that more time was being lost in fighting allegations against the core committee.

"I request you to adjourn the present core committee and create a new structure so that we can fulfil the dream of a corruption-free India," Vishwas wrote.

The letter comes a day before a meeting at Ralegan Siddhi which is to focus on handling the present crisis, after several of the main members of the team came under personal attacks.

He also suggested that the core committee should be expanded and made into a 'high-core committee' which includes all Indians.

"Transform it into a 'high-core committee' with 121 crore members," Vishwas said.

The Team Anna member also said that despite the promises from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, no concrete changes have happened so far. On the other hand, members from the ruling party are trying to malign Team Anna.

"The baseless personal attacks on team members by corrupt forces prove that they want to make the movement weak. The conspiracy to divert attention from the main issue and engage in giving clarification to the attacks is a strong strategy," he added.

Team Anna member Kiran Bedi is alleged to have encashed inflated travel bills when invited for seminars and other functions. Several accusations have been levelled against other members as well.
