Lucknow, Nov 28: Known for her strict attitude, Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati showed the door to her one time close confidante and former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha on Monday. Kushwaha who earlier held several portfolios including family welfare was asked to step down after a series of murders of senior health officials in the state due to scam in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme.

Kushwaha was expelled from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by CM Mayawati on Monday. The unique point being that he was expelled permanently and not for six years as the practice is in political parties.

Earlier, after stepping down Kushwaha was sidelined in the party. He created ripples in the political scene when he shot off a letter to Prime Minister (PM) and several others including Director CBI and CM Mayawati stating life threat from senior cabinet minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui and senior UP government officials. State government termed it as a drama and took strong notice. What followed was that Kushwaha was asked to vacate the official ministerial bunglow. The bunglow was situated strategically at 6-Kalidas Marg just adjacent to official CM residence, 5-Kalidas Marg.

Not to be cowed down, Kushwaha who went underground arrived suddenly on Sunday when the whole administration was busy in organizing CM Mayawati’s rally. He went to his old house, the one he is allotted by virtue being a MLC and left Delhi same day along with a handbag. The very next day, CM Mayawati showed him the door.

Kushwaha’s political graph was envied by many in the BSP. Such was his proximity to CM that he had all time access to her bunglow. Now with Kushwaha turning a traitor as claimed by BSP, the chances of he revealing something is now making round in Lucknow’s politics.
