Dublin: Members of Konkans Ireland Celebrate Christmas

Dublin, Dec 23: Konkans Ireland celebrated Christmas on recently at St Paul’s Youth Club. Around 50 people participated in the function. The spirit of Christmas was very much present and the joy of the season was palpable among all.

The highlight of the day were the kids who entertained everyone with their talents. Kids dressed as Santas sang carols.

The day began with prayers and blessing by Fr Jayan. Veena Machado as the compere co-ordinated the day very well. Kids enjoyed a few games and enthralled the audience with their singing and dancing. They also presented a small skit.

Mangalorean culture was kept alive by the adults who prepared ‘Kuswar’. Committee members thanked the group for their participation and encouragement.

The day ended with the formation of a new committee for the year 2012. The new member are as follows:

President - Jancintha D’Costa,
Secretary - Theresa,
Cultural secretaries - Maria Lobo and Ajith Sequeira .

The were wished good luck by the outgoing committee president Vijay Bennis, secretary Mark Castelino, cultural secretary Annie Simon and treasurar Gregory Sequeira.

Also, carol singing held during the next few days were also attended by many.
