Udupi, Mar 26: “The entire society suffers when some individuals engage in divisive politics based on caste and religion for power. People must be vigilant against such political conspiracies that aim to divide and rule”, said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake. He was addressing the gathering at the oath-taking ceremony of the Udupi District Congress Minority Wing and the communal harmony Iftar gathering.
The newly appointed president of the District Minority Wing, Sharpuddin Sheikh, remarked, "Various communities in this region have made significant contributions to the state and nation over time. Even today, there is a strong spirit of mutual support and coexistence among communities. The Minority Wing will work towards strengthening societal unity."













The event took place at the Udupi District Congress office in Brahmagiri here. Maulana Irshad Saadi initiated the programme with a prayer. The event was presided over by writer Mushtaq Hennabail, Harish Kini, Amrith Shenoy, and Ashok Kumar Kodavoor.
Several prominent leaders and dignitaries, including Prasad Raj Kanchan, Fr William Martis, Mushtaq Ahmed Belve, Nakhwa Yahya, Muhammad Maula, Ramesh Kanchan, Naveen Chandra Shetty, and Geetha Wagle, along with Congress party leaders and workers, were present at the event.
Roshan Rodrigues, general secretary of the Minority Wing, delivered the vote of thanks. Rameez Hussain and Hameed Yusuf extended their support in organizing the programme. Dr Farooq Chandranagar and Nagesh Udyavara compered the event.
