Nagpur, Apr 1: A woman in Nagpur uncovered her husband’s shocking history of sexual abuse after hacking into his WhatsApp account, leading to his arrest. The accused, Abdul Sharique Quereshi (33), allegedly lured multiple women into physical relationships under false promises of marriage and secretly filmed them to blackmail them.

The woman, who married Quereshi in 2021, initially approached the Pachpaoli police over his relentless demands for pornographic acts. However, police could only register a case of cruelty due to Supreme Court guidelines. Determined to expose him, she hacked his WhatsApp account and found evidence of multiple affairs and blackmail.

One of his victims, a 19-year-old girl from Bhandara, was allegedly manipulated by Quereshi, who posed as ‘Sahil Sharma.’ He reportedly lured her to hotels, exploited her under false promises of marriage, and even forced her to sell a gold ring for Rs 30,000, threatening to leak her intimate pictures.

Although he targeted multiple women, only the 19-year-old survivor came forward to lodge a complaint. Following her statement, police registered a case of rape against Quereshi and arrested him. Senior Inspector Baburao Raut confirmed that the court has granted a one-day custody remand, which is expected to be extended.
