Karkala, Apr 6 : In a heartwarming display of cultural continuity, a sixth-grade student has captivated the local community by performing the traditional tannimaniga of a female spirit deity at the sacred Shri Brahma Mugerakala Daiva Kshetra in Panglabettu.

Samarth, a student of Shiralu’s Sudi School, is the grandson of the late Monu Panara, a revered Daiva performer. Growing up amidst the rituals, Samarth closely observed his grandfather’s dedication and absorbed the essence of the practice.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Harish, he recently took on the responsibility of adorning and performing the role of the female deity, winning hearts with his poise and devotion.

The young artiste’s uncle, Ramesh Shiralu, a teacher at the government school in Munnur, Nettanige, has also played a crucial role in encouraging his journey.

Samarth’s effort to preserve and carry forward his ancestral legacy at such a tender age has received widespread appreciation and is seen as a beacon of hope for the future of traditional art forms.
